The founder of YO. is Kenyan, and his heritage has shaped an appreciation for community, hospitality, and the connections created around coffee.
The name itself is personal. “Yo” began as a childhood nickname and, through years of playing and coaching sports, naturally evolved into “Coach Yo.” Across those experiences, one idea remained constant: bringing people together.
YO. carries that spirit forward.
Coffee became the natural meeting place — an everyday ritual capable of creating conversation, connection, and community. The founder's Kenyan heritage also gives the brand a meaningful connection to one of the world's exceptional coffee origins, reflected in the development of Kenya 001 and the broader vision for YO.
